If your Horse/Pony has recently been diagnosed with: Founder, Laminitis, or Coffin Bone Rotation, the first thing you need to do is calm down because we can handle this. Neither Laminitis nor Coffin Bone Rotation is dangerous. No horse has ever died from Laminitis or from a rotating coffin bone. It is the lack of knowledge and rehabilitation that has been the problem, but since you are here, we have that under control. I have all the knowledge needed to save your horse; you just need a way to apply it. It is never too early to start. It is possible to trim horses that are lying down, and it is also possible to trim horses that refuse to let anyone lift their hooves.
Tier 1 ($20/hoof) – Analysis of the situation with an assessment of risks and damage.
Intended for crisis management, rehabilitation assessment, and action planning.
What you receive:
- Localization of the source and cause of the pain.
- A clear plan of what is required to make the horse pain-free as quickly as possible.
- Description of the goal and estimated recovery time.
What I will need:
- 1 Side view Radiograph
- 1 Side view Photo, taken in the exact same angle as the radiograph, with the camera standing at least 2 feet away (60cm).
The Goal:
- To identify what really has happened and how to quickly stop the degrading trend.
- Giving you what you need to make an informed decision about the future.
The better pictures you send me, the better evaluation you will get.
If you send me pictures, you also give me the right to use them anonymously for educational purposes. This means that if the pictures are good, I might use them as references and examples for others to learn from.

If I see anything unusual, dangerous, or noteworthy, I will point it out and tell you what you need to know.
Remember that it is always possible to rehabilitate the condition “Coffin Bone Rotation.”
Tier 2 ($40 / hoof)- A full assessment of the hoof.
What you receive:
- A blueprint for the most effective actions and the fastest possible rehabilitation.
- Concrete, easy-to-follow instructions intended to be handed to your hoof care provider to achieve the best results in the shortest time.
What I will need:
- Radiograph
- Side view
- Front view
- Rear view
- Side, Front, and Rear views taken with the camera standing on the floor at least 2 feet (60cm) from the middle of the hoof
- Sole view, taken flat on, and preferably one more taken from a slightly different angle.
- The better pictures you send me, the better job I can do.
What I will do:
- Combine the pictures into a technical drawing, marking and explaining, connections and details.
- A complete review of the entire hoof, identifying damage, defects, risks, and necessary actions.
- Explain the current condition, the process, and the underlying causes, written in a language you will understand.
- Give you clear instructions that you can follow yourself or give to your hoof care provider for what to do to make your horse’s life better now.
The Goal:
- To give you a Roadmap for how to reach a fully restored, pain-free hoof in “like-new” condition as quickly as possible. This also applies to “coffin bone rotation, “sinkers”, all kinds of hoof cracks, and more.
Email the pictures of one hoof in each email to pictures@equinehoove.com, and tell me what hoof it is, the name of the horse, his age, if he has any conditions or issues.
If the pictures are of a laminitic horse, with “coffin bone rotation”, no older than 2 years. The horse should be pain-free directly and the coffin bone rotation should grow away with the pace of the growing hoof wall. There will be no need for any resting period. You can regain riding as soon as the horse accepts it.
- All kinds of hoof cracks are rehabilitatable, but the time it takes depends on the length of the crack.
- The rehabilitation trims for flares are not difficult to do, but can be hard to understand, since bar-trimming is not taught at farrier schools, and it takes a different kind of three-dimensional thinking to understand.
- Some other issues might take longer to rehabilitate, but if I see something that is extreme, I will tell you even before you pay for the evaluation.

Tier 2 comes with 1 page per hoof containing much more information than could be shown on these miniatures.
Tier 1 and Tier 2 come with 1 week of email Q/A to make sure that you have understood the instructions.
Tier 3 ($50 / hoof) is an add-on to the above.
Tier 3 covers Picture evaluation for the first and second trim performed during the time period I recommend.
When I receive good pictures, I will create one report for each hoof, and payment will be due when the report is ready to be sent out.
Disclaimer:
- Mares that foundered in the days after giving birth must be examined by a veterinarian and most likely be treated with antibiotics (the trimming will be the same).
- My experience is that hoof conditions that have been present for more than 3 years are much more difficult to rehabilitate. I don’t say that it is impossible, just that it is more difficult. But it can be too late for the rest of the horse if he is old or suffers from other conditions.
- It is important for positive results that you follow my instructions also for movement and exercise.
- I can’t guarantee positive results since I don’t see the horse, and I will not be doing the trimming.
- All my information is educational, and the responsibility stays with the owner.
I’m looking forward to creating good-looking, healthy hooves together with you.
